THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH | TWENTY YEAR DREAM

At the height of COVID lockdowns, my roommate Max Mezo (conveniently a DP) and I were given a $50 budget by the band The Neighbourhood Watch to make a music video.

With no way to film indoors and barely any money to work with (just enough for a bit of gas), we turned to local Facebook community groups and put out a call: Would anyone be willing to take part in a socially-distanced music video, filmed from outside their homes?

The response was overwhelming. Over 60 Torontonians and two dogs got involved, dancing behind their windows, on porches, and in their driveways. The video struck a chord and quickly went viral on Facebook and was covered across Canadian media.

Off the back of the original video we were commissioned by KPMG to recreate the concept with their staff aiming to bring a sense of joy and connection to teams working remotely during the pandemic.
